Action packed or Simply relaxing?
Lanjaron is famous for it Spa Water. It can be seen in bottles throughout Europe in the supermarkets and restaurants and on the side of its huge trucks as it is transported up and down the country.
The town itself has dozens of ‘fuentes’ (natural springs) along the side of the streets or in little plazas or up back lanes, anywhere and everywhere. Some just a hole in the wall and others have been made into features to be admired. Visitors and locals alike collect water, some more popular than others depending on the properties of the water. Some are said to have minerals to help your eyes and others to help your stomach and so on.
The Balnerio (The Baths) dates back to 1770, it is a beautiful old building, which has been well extended for its many treatments, massages, facials etc as well as of course the baths themselves. On a daily basis you see a procession of elderly people heading from the town hotels towards the Balnerio, mostly carrying their water containers ready to take the waters either from the fuente there or to be told where to go to get the best for their ailments.
A special mention (and situated behind the main house) is the large swimming pool (approximately 12x10 and 8ft deep), which makes it very popular for diving. It has wide stone steps and a slope in one corner for those needing a steady approach. It is up and running from Easter until the school half term around the end of October and can be used at any time.
Down one side we have a number of sun beds with shade of olive trees and large umbrellas. To the end there is an honesty bar with cooking facilities and a barbeque, (which can be used by arrangements). I often use this area for clients evening meals so there are a number of tables and chairs set up & the pool, bar and bbq area are surrounded by trees and hedges so it is very private and sheltered.

La Casa del Viento is fabulous. Anne in the most attentive host, nothing is to much trouble! The accommodation is basic with a rustic charm, however beds were comfy and views spectacular. We were stunned at the beauty of the place with its outside dining facilities and lovely clean cool pool. Lots of exploring can be done in the surrounding areas and worth taking a bag when exploring as there is fruit and nuts galore! I can't wait to return with my other half and explore the local mountain bike trails. Just fantastic, thank you Anne!

La casa del Viento is a truly beautiful place located on the hill side of Lanjaron.
Ann the owner is just perfect and make you feel at home from the very first minute you arrive. Its certainly feel more like staying with loved ones rather than staying in a B&B. The food is all seasonal, locally produced and absolutely gorgeous, expect to put on a few pounds :-).This is the perfect place to relax, clean and with a great swimming pool with views of Lanjaron. Its fair to say that I will be going back soon and would recommend la casa del Viento to anyone.
